Working Memory is a web app that installs directly to your home screen — no App Store required. Once installed it runs full-screen, just like a native app.
Install on iPhone or iPad (Safari)
- Open app.workingmemory.ai in Safari — this must be Safari, not Chrome or Firefox
- Tap the Share button (square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen)
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Tap Add in the top right corner
- The Working Memory icon appears on your home screen — tap it to launch
If "Add to Home Screen" doesn't appear: you're likely in an in-app browser (e.g. tapped a link from Mail or Instagram). Copy the URL and paste it into Safari directly.
Install on Android (Chrome)
- Open app.workingmemory.ai in Chrome
- Chrome shows a banner at the bottom — tap Install
- If no banner appears: tap the three-dot menu (top right) → "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"
- Tap Install to confirm
- The app appears in your app drawer and home screen
Also works in Edge and Samsung Internet. Does not work in Firefox on Android.
How to tell it's working
After tapping the home screen icon, you should see:
- No browser address bar — the app runs in full-screen
- The login screen with an email field and "Send magic link" button
Enabling push notifications for reminders
Once installed, Working Memory can send you push notifications when reminders are due.
- Android: tap Allow when the app prompts for notification permission
- iPhone/iPad: requires iOS 16.4 or later, and the app must be installed to the home screen (notifications don't work from a Safari tab alone)
If you missed the prompt, you can re-enable notifications in your device's Settings → Working Memory → Notifications.
