Working Memory uses Stripe to process every payment. Stripe is the same payment platform used by most modern web services — they specialize in handling card data securely so we don't have to. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe does, and we just keep a reference to your subscription.
Receipts
After every successful charge — your first signup, every monthly renewal, every annual renewal — Stripe emails a receipt to the email address on your account. You don't need to log in to download anything; the receipt arrives on its own.
If you can't find a receipt, check your spam folder for messages from receipts@stripe.com. Receipts go out within a few minutes of the charge clearing.
Updating your payment method
When your card expires or you switch banks, update the payment method from inside the app:
- Open account settings.
- Go to billing.
- Tap Update payment method.
That opens a page hosted by Stripe where you can enter the new card details. The new card takes effect on your next renewal — your current period continues uninterrupted.
Failed payments
If a charge fails (expired card, insufficient funds, the bank declined it), we'll email you to let you know and give you a grace period to fix it. During the grace period your account keeps working — you don't lose access while you're updating your card.
If the charge is still failing at the end of the grace period, the account moves to the free tier. Your data stays — capture stops, but nothing is deleted. As soon as a valid payment goes through, you're back on the paid plan.
Currency
Prices are shown in US dollars everywhere in the app and on the marketing site. Stripe converts to your card's currency automatically at the bank's exchange rate at the time of the charge. The rate is set by your bank, not by us, so the exact amount in your local currency may vary slightly month to month.
Tax
In regions where we're required to collect tax — most of the EU (VAT), some US states, a handful of others — Stripe calculates the tax at checkout and adds it to the charge. Both the pre-tax subtotal and the tax line item are shown on the receipt.
If you're billing on behalf of a business and need a tax ID on the invoice, add it in the billing section of account settings before the next renewal.
Refunds
For routine refund questions, see Changing or cancelling your plan. For anything unusual — duplicate charges, a renewal you didn't expect, a billing dispute — email support@workingmemory.ai and we'll sort it out.
